Barrhaven Light Rail Transit and Rail Grade-Separation Environmental Assessment Study

Location: The study area is approximately 12 km long and spans the neighbourhoods of Barrhaven, Knoxdale – Merivale and College as well as the NCC Greenbelt in Ottawa ON. / Completed 2020

Client: Parsons / City of Ottawa

The objective of this report was to provide a summary of the landscape and urban design character of the study area as it relates to linear transportation infrastructure (roads and transitway) within the study area. This summary provided a baseline for which impacts of a Preferred Design on the existing landscape and urban design character can be assessed and serve as a basis for the development of a landscape strategy for the Preferred Design/Recommended Plan.

Ottawa City Council approved the EA Study recommendations and functional design in November 2020.

Our client Parsons Inc. was the prime consultant and drove the project.  Graphic support was provided by our colleagues at George Harris Collaborative Inc., in Calgary AB.
